Vasilijus Matuševas was a Lithuanian volleyball player born on October 18, 1945, in the Ignalina municipality. He competed under the Soviet flag during the 1960s. Matuševas participated in the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, where he won a gold medal in volleyball. Additionally, he earned a bronze medal at the 1969 Volleyball World Cup. He passed away in Vilnius on October 24, 1989. His contributions to the sport have left a lasting legacy in Lithuanian volleyball.
