Dr. Vasant Parikh (1929 – 2007) was an Indian politician born in Vadhnagar, Mehsana district, Gujarat. He was an ophthalmic surgeon by profession, as well as a writer and social activist. He served as a legislator in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from 1967 to 1972, elected as an independent candidate from the Kheralu constituency. He is considered one of Narendra Modi's political mentors and is credited with coining the phrase 'One Vote, One Note'. In 1984, he founded the Karuna Setu Trust with his late wife, Ratnaprabha Maniyar.
