Valery Korneyev is a prominent Ukrainian entomologist born on February 13, 1956. He specializes in the systematics of Diptera and has been an active member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 2018. He serves as a professor and has published over 260 scientific works, including more than 120 new species descriptions. Korneyev is the head of the Department of Entomology and scientific collections, and has held various editorial and leadership roles. He is also recognized for his contributions to poetry and audio performances.
