Valeriy Nikitich Demin (February 9, 1942 – November 26, 2006) was a Soviet and Russian philosopher, writer, and biographer. He was known for his pseudo-historical works about Hyperborea and the "Aryan" origins of Russians, which he referred to as the "Hyperborean idea." Demin was a member of the Russian Writers' Union and earned a Doctorate in Philosophy in 1997. He led an amateur search expedition called "Hyperborea" on the Kola Peninsula.
