Valeria Kuzmenko Titova was a prominent Soviet tennis player, born on February 28, 1934, in Kyiv. She made history as the first Soviet competitor in the French Open in 1960. During her career, she played at prestigious tournaments, including the French Open and Wimbledon. She was coached by Vladimir Balva and became a member of both the Russian and Ukrainian Tennis Halls of Fame. Valeria was married to Olympic gymnast Yuri Titov and passed away on October 9, 2010, in the United States.
