Vagn Lundbye was a Danish author born on November 22, 1933, in Vanløse and passed away on August 20, 2016. He grew up in Aarhus and initially trained as an officer, later becoming a teacher. Lundbye made his literary debut in 1964 with a short story titled 'En af disse' in the magazine Vindrosen, and published his first novel, Signalement, in 1966. He was honored with Det Danske Akademis Store Pris in 2002 and received the Beatrice Prisen in 1992.
