His works focused on the history, theory, and methodology of literary criticism, as well as the life and work of notable writers such as Alexander Grin, Valery Bryusov, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Alexei Tolstoy, and Konstantin Paustovsky, along with the tragic fate of Isaac Babel.
