V. V. Čavčanidze was a prominent Georgian physicist, mathematician, and cyberneticist, born on September 22, 1920, in Sukhumi and passed away on January 4, 2010, in Tbilisi. He became an academician of the Georgian Academy of Sciences in 1974 and obtained his Doctorate in Physics and Mathematics in 1964, becoming a professor in 1967. Čavčanidze was also a member of the editorial board of the Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia and served as the chief editor of the scientific journal "Science and Technologies".
