Ved Prakash Sandlas was an influential Indian space scientist, born on February 22, 1945. He significantly contributed to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) during its formative years and led the SLV-3 project from 1980 to 1984. His expertise extended to the Defence Research and Development Organisation until 2005. Beyond his research contributions, Sandlas played a pivotal role in establishing the Amity Institute of Space Science and Technology, as well as the Amity Institute of Aerospace Engineering, promoting space science education and research in India.
