V. Kalyanam was an Indian freedom fighter and personal secretary to Mahatma Gandhi from 1943 to 1948. He actively participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942 and witnessed Gandhi's assassination, being the first to inform Nehru and Patel of Gandhi's death. Later, he worked as a secretary for notable figures like Edwina Mountbatten. Kalyanam criticized the Congress Party for straying from Gandhi's legacy and joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2014. He passed away on May 4, 2021.
