Valluri Kameswara Rao (1914-2018) was an esteemed Indian Civil Service officer who notably served as the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. He began his career during the British Raj as a collector and magistrate, later transitioning to the Indian Administrative Service post-Independence. Rao played a significant role in the establishment of Andhra State in 1953 and subsequently became its first Secretary of Public Works after Andhra Pradesh's formation in 1956. He also contributed to the central government’s Planning Commission and served as principal secretary to the President of India from 1981 to 1982.
