V. Balan, born on 17 October 1942, was a renowned Indian sculptor and painter known for his contributions to Mosaic Art and church interior designs. After earning a Diploma from Cochin School of Art in 1962, he began teaching there before moving to Chennai in 1970. He gained prominence by creating the Mosaic Art of the Risen Lord and designing church interiors across India. In 1980, he established his studio, Arte Sacra, in Bangalore, furthering his influence in the realm of art related to Christian worship.
