Ulrich Peters is a former West German slalom canoeist born on June 3, 1951, in Schwerte, North Rhine-Westphalia. He competed in the 1960s and 1970s and won five medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, including one gold medal in 1975. Peters finished fourth in the K-1 event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. His athletic lineage includes his niece Violetta, who won a bronze medal in the women's K-1 event at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and his brother Wolfgang, also a former slalom canoeist.
