Tung-Yen Lin (1912–2003) was a prominent Chinese-American civil engineer, known for his pioneering work in bridge engineering and prestressed concrete in the United States. Born in Fuzhou and educated at Jiaotong University and UC Berkeley, Lin significantly advanced the design methods for prestressed concrete, making it popular in the U.S. He founded T. Y. Lin International and worked on significant projects, including the Moscone Center and bridges in Costa Rica and Taiwan. He received several prestigious awards, including the National Medal of Science in 1986.
