Tsuseko Yada was a Japanese novelist and essayist born on June 19, 1907, in Gojome, Akita Prefecture. Initially part of the modernist movement, she transitioned to pure literature and became well-known for her writing skills and beauty. Her novel 'Kagurazaka' was nominated for the 3rd Akutagawa Prize in 1936. Yada was also known as the lover of the writer Ango Sakaguchi. Her brother, Fujirō Yada, was the fifth president of Daiwa Life Insurance.
