Tsugunari Kubo was a notable Japanese religious figure and Buddhist scholar born in Tokyo on July 24, 1936. He served as the second president of the Rei-Yu-Kai (霊友会), and was the president of the laity-based Buddhist group Kokoro no Kai. Additionally, he represented the Kokoro Research Institute. Kubo was a member of several academic societies, including the International Association of Buddhist Studies, the Japanese Association for Indian and Buddhist Studies, and the Japanese Association for Religious Studies. He passed away on November 3, 2019.
