Trygve Reenskaug (1930-2024) was a Norwegian computer scientist known for coining the term Model View Controller in software design in 1979 while at Xerox PARC. He launched his first major software project, Autokon, a CADCAM program, in 1963, which was used in shipyards worldwide for over 30 years. Involved in object-oriented methods, he pioneered role modeling techniques and tools by 1983, founded the IT company Taskon in 1986, co-authored 'Working With Objects' with P. Wold and O. A. Lehne, and contributed to UML development. He was a professor at the University of Oslo.
