G.M.C. (Truida) Jonkman-Jansen, born on April 4, 1949, was the last mayor of the Dutch municipality of Scheemda. She served as mayor starting February 1, 2000, after being a city council member and alderman in Lelystad. Notably, she oversaw projects like Blauwestad and was part of a nearly all-female executive board. Jonkman-Jansen was reappointed mayor in 2006 and remained until the municipality's dissolution in 2010. Her tenure included issuing a controversial emergency order leading to a national socialist's arrest, which she later acknowledged was unjustified.
