Toshio Inoue (井上 俊夫) was a Japanese poet born on May 11, 1922, in a farming family near Osaka. He served in the military from 1942 to 1946 and was mentored by poets Hiroshi Noma and Jūsanshū Ono. Inoue taught at the Osaka Literary School and Tezukayama Gakuin College. He won the 7th H Prize in 1957 for his poetry collection 'Noni Kakaru Niji'. In 2006, he was honored as a leading poet at the Japan Contemporary Poets Association's Poetry Festival.
