Toshimitsu Shigemura is a Japanese scholar and journalist born on September 30, 1945. He is a distinguished professor emeritus at both Tokyo University of Science and Waseda University. Additionally, he has served as a visiting professor at Yonsei University and Dongduk Women's University as well as a guest editorial committee member at Mainichi Shimbun. After retiring from Mainichi Shimbun in 2000, he joined Takushoku University and later became a professor at Waseda University's Faculty of International Program from 2004 to 2016. His expertise lies in the analysis of the Korean Peninsula, particularly North Korean issues.
