Toshiaki Hidaka was a Japanese singer and guitarist born on December 12, 1933, in Tokyo. He gained prominence as a member of the Hawaiian band Mahina Stars in 1953, after leaving Aloha Hawaiians. He was known for his exceptional guitar skills and occasionally sang his own songs. Following a split in Mahina in 2002, he formed a new group, Sanarei, with Reiko Takigawa in 2003. Hidaka passed away in November 2012 at the age of 78, leading to the disbandment of Sanarei.
