Tormod Caimbeul, also known as Tormod a' Bhocsair or Norman Campbell, was a Scottish teacher and writer, born on October 7, 1942, in South Dell and passed away on May 2, 2015. He was known for writing in Scottish Gaelic and taught Gaelic and English in various locations, including Glasgow and the Hebrides. His debut novel, Deireadh an Fhoghair, released in 1979, is recognized as the first Scottish Gaelic novel. Coming from a literary family, he influenced Gaelic literature significantly.
