Torbjørn Frøysnes, born on December 11, 1946, in Arendal, is a Norwegian diplomat and politician affiliated with the Conservative Party. He commenced his career at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1973, later serving as a State Secretary between 1984 and 1986 under the second cabinet Willoch. He was a deputy representative to Parliament from 1989 to 1993 and chaired the Norwegian Tourist Board from 1988 to 1995. He served in the Norwegian embassy in Bonn from 1995 to 1999 and became the Norwegian ambassador to the Council of Europe in 2003.
