At the Daily Mirror, he notably served as feature writer, assistant editor, associate editor, and ultimately editor from 1971 to 1974. Later, he held the position of Editorial Director of the Mirror Group and worked with Reuters. In 1984, he left the UK press scene due to dissatisfaction with management and moved to the US to work with Globe Communications.
