Tomoo Masaki (October 26, 1934 – July 7, 2020) was a prominent Japanese pharmacologist and a Doctor of Medicine. He was honored as a professor emeritus at both Tsukuba University and Kyoto University, and recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit. His research focused on pharmacology, and he is known for discovering endothelin in 1988, which opened a new field of research for hypertension. His students include Masafumi Yanagisawa and Takeshi Sakurai, both of whom continue to contribute significantly to the field.
