Tom Dawes was an American singer, born on July 25, 1944, in Albany. He was the frontman of the pop folk band The Cyrkle, where he also played bass, accordion, and sitar. After the band disbanded, he gained popularity for creating a successful series of jingles for iconic American advertisements, including those for 7 Up, American Airlines, and Alka-Seltzer. He passed away in New York on October 13, 2007, at the age of 63.
