Toқtar Arynov (born May 11, 1942, in Kulja, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region – died October 3, 1988) was a specialist in linguistics and a Candidate of Philological Sciences (1983). He graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 1968 and worked at the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Language Studies named after A. Baitursynov. Arynov published over 80 articles in ethnolinguistics and contributed to the 210-volume Kazakh Explanatory Dictionary.
