Tjekero Tweya, born on June 18, 1960, in Shamundambo, Namibia, is a prominent Namibian politician affiliated with SWAPO. He served as the Minister of Communications from 2015 to 2018 and has been the Minister of Trade and Industry since 2018. Previously, he held the role of Deputy Minister in the same Ministry from 2010 to 2015. Joining SWAPO at 15, Tweya has had numerous senior positions in Namibian governmental institutions. In addition to his political career, he is a trained teacher and worked in various schools from 1989 to 1994.
