Timothy Monckton Synnot was an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, born on January 15, 1916. He served during World War II on HMAS Hobart, where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his exemplary service. Synnot, who was the older brother of Admiral Anthony Synnot, achieved the rank of commander in 1951 and later retired as a captain. After his naval career, he settled in Naberoo, South Australia, where he lived until his passing on May 18, 1997.
