Thor Erik Nordeng is a Norwegian geophysicist and meteorologist born in 1952. He is a professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and a senior researcher at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. He earned his master's degree in geophysics in 1979 and his doctorate in 1981 from the University of Oslo. After completing his doctorate, he joined the Meteorological Institute as a researcher and became the research director in 2004. He has also held a professorship at the University of Oslo and has been part of the Norwegian Geophysical Society since 1986.
