Thomas Pitt Cholmondeley-Tapper (31 July 1910 – 27 July 2001) was a pioneering auto racing driver from New Zealand, recognized as the first prominent driver of his country before notable figures like Graham McRae and Bruce McLaren. Known as 'George', he had Norwegian ancestry and was skilled in skiing and amateur racing. Cholmondeley-Tapper competed in various cars, including Bugattis and a Maserati 8CM, and was offered a Mercedes-Benz test at the 1936 German Grand Prix. He passed away in England at the age of 90.
