Thomas P. Stafford is a former American Air Force officer, test pilot, and NASA astronaut known for his significant contributions to space exploration. He commanded Apollo 10, the second crewed mission to the Moon, and was the first person to pilot a lunar module. Stafford also completed two Gemini missions (Gemini 6A and Gemini 9A) and led the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project flight in 1975, marking the first joint U.S.-Soviet space mission. In total, he spent 507 hours in space and flew over 120 aircraft and three types of spacecraft.
