He began his career with Hallescher FC Chemie and then moved to BSG Chemie Buna Schkopau, competing in the Oberliga. After returning to HFC, he saw varying levels of playtime before ending his career in the early 1990s with VfL Klafeld-Geisweid 08. Despite challenges, he contributed significantly to his teams and had a notable youth cup victory in 1974.
