He represented the national team in the Olympics three times: 1968 in Mexico City, 1972 in Munich, and 1980 in Moscow. At the club level, he played for Ethnikos Piraeus from 1966 to 1986, serving as captain from 1984 to 1986. He won the Greek Championship during nearly all seasons, except for 1971 and 1986, and participated in the 1980 European Champions Cup final four. His brother, Giannis Karalogos, was also his teammate and later became Ethnikos's coach.
