Thomas Hysing (1917-2010) was a Norwegian civil engineer recognized for several innovative projects in early information technology. After studying at NTH, he worked at Elektrisk Bureau and had a significant stint at IBM in New York. His time at the University of Cambridge allowed him to engage with one of the earliest computers, EDSAC. Inspired, he led the construction of NUSSE, one of Norway's first self-built computers, and later founded ESSI/Autokon, a pioneer in CAD/CAM for shipbuilding.
