Thomas Boss Congdon Jr. was an influential American book editor, born on March 17, 1931, notable for his work on bestselling titles such as Jaws by Peter Benchley and Growing Up by Russell Baker. He was also responsible for the controversial book Michelle Remembers, which contributed to the 1980s satanic panic. Congdon began his career at The Saturday Evening Post and went on to work for leading publishing houses, ultimately establishing his own. He passed away on December 23, 2008, due to health complications.
