Theodorus Klompe was a Dutch geologist known for founding the first geological department in Bandung, Indonesia. He earned his doctorate in geology from Leiden University in 1929, focusing his thesis on the geology of the Bergamasque Alps. His career included work with the Koloniale Petroleum Maatschappij in various regions, followed by academic roles as a lecturer and full professor at the University of Indonesia. He also chaired geological departments at universities in Thailand and Malaysia before his death in 1963, with his ashes spread in Indonesia.
