Thakur Vishva Narain Singh (1928 – 2009) was India's first braille editor and a prominent journalist. He worked at the National Institute of Visually Handicapped in Dehradun, contributing significantly to braille literature. Singh pioneered the establishment of a large library for the visually impaired and facilitated the translation of Hindu religious texts into braille. After retirement, he continued his passion for writing for local newspapers. He passed away in Amsterdam during a family vacation.
