Tetsutarō Katō was a Japanese former army lieutenant born on February 21, 1917, in Tokyo. He served as the head of the fifth branch of the Tokyo POW camp in Niigata and later became an English language school operator. His father was the writer and critic Ichio Katō, and his mother was Koyuki Katō. Katō passed away on July 29, 1976.
