Tetsugen Bernard Glassman (January 18, 1939 – November 4, 2018) was an American Zen Buddhist teacher and founder of the Zen Peacemakers, an organization established in 1980. He co-founded the Zen Peacemakers Order in 1966 with his late wife, Sandra Jishu Holmes. Glassman was the Dharma heir of the late teacher Taizan Maezumi and was known for pioneering social engagement in Buddhism, establishing the 'Bearing Witness Retreats' in Auschwitz and in urban settings.
