Tessema Abshero is an Ethiopian long-distance runner born on December 9, 1986. He gained recognition in 2002 by finishing tenth in the 5000 meters at the African Championships. In 2003, he contributed to the Ethiopian team's success, earning a silver medal in the World Cross Country Championships. Abshero achieved a personal best marathon time of 2:08:26 at the Hamburg Marathon in 2008 and competed in the 2009 London Marathon. He also inspired his brother, Ayele Abshero, who became the world junior champion in cross country in 2009.
