Teruyuki Komiya is a prominent Japanese zoologist and the 13th director of Ueno Zoo in Tokyo since November 10, 1947. He has served as the former president of the Japan Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Since August 2011, he has been the executive director of the Tokyo Zoological Park Association. In addition to his roles at zoos, he holds positions at various wildlife and bird conservation organizations, including chairman of the Japan Bird Protection Association and a councilor at the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology.
