Born in California, she moved to Sitka in 1976, where she honed her craft under influential mentors, including her grandmother. Rofkar was a pioneer in Tlingit weaving, creating the first Tlingit robe made entirely from mountain goat wool in over two centuries. Throughout her career, she combined traditional techniques with contemporary materials, significantly contributing to the cultural heritage of the Tlingit people.
