Ted Gärdestad was a Swedish singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist, born on February 18, 1956, in Sollentuna, Sweden. He was the youngest of three siblings, with an elder brother named Kjell born in 1944 and another brother Kenneth born in 1948. Gärdestad became known for his music, notably the song 'Himlen är oskyldigt blå.' Sadly, he took his own life on June 22, 1997, by jumping in front of a train, marking a tragic end to his life and career.
