Tauno Tapio Peltomäki (February 27, 1914 – January 16, 1995) was a Finnish journalist and writer. He was an initiator and chairman of the statue committee for the 1956 installation of the statue of the 'Hirvenhiihtäjät' (Moose Skiers) in Kuru. The poem 'Hirvenhiihtäjät' by poet J. L. Runeberg was inspired by a local settler and hunter, Matti Hietala, from whom Peltomäki was a fourth-generation descendant.
