Tara Singh Hayer (1936-1998) was an Indian-Canadian newspaper publisher and editor, known for founding the Indo-Canadian Times, the largest Punjabi-language weekly in Canada. His outspoken criticism of fundamentalist violence led to his murder, making him one of the rare journalists in Canada killed for their work. Hayer also served as a key witness in the trial of the Air India Flight 182 bombing, advocating against violent extremist groups through his newspaper, distributed widely in Canada, the U.S., and England.
