Tamás Lajos was a Hungarian engineer born on January 31, 1944, in Eger. He earned a doctorate in engineering sciences and served as a university professor. Between 1987 and 1991, he held the position of vice-rector for international affairs at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). From 1991 until 2008, he was the head of the Fluid Mechanics Department at BME, contributing significantly to the academic community in Hungary.
