Tamar Shahnazaryan was an Armenian Soviet singer (mezzo-soprano) and educator, born on January 4, 1901, in Baku, Russian Empire, and passed away on October 6, 1978, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR. She was the daughter of satirist Konstantin Melik-Shahnazaryan and became a distinguished figure in the arts, earning the title of Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1961. Active from 1922, she studied at the Yerevan Music Studio and later taught at the Komitas State Conservatory, producing notable vocal pedagogy methods and training prominent students.
