He is known by his original stage name Hirata Mitsuru, and previously performed as Mitsuru Hara during his time with ensembles 'Elite Men' and 'Chanel Five.' He gained fame in 1976 as a one-hit wonder with the song 'Ain no Kariudo,' which introduced a pioneering form of Tohoku dialect rap. Additionally, he wrote and composed the 1968 hit '484 no Blues,' originally performed by Jun Kodachi.
