Takeshi Asaji is a Japanese historian born on July 8, 1955, in Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. He specializes in modern buraku history, particularly the history of the Suiheisha movement, which advocates for the rights of marginalized communities in Japan. Asaji became active in buraku issues during high school and continued his involvement through university. Since 1982, he has worked at the Osaka Human Rights History Museum. In 2001, he published a declaration of the buraku people in his work 'The Original Image of the Suiheisha'.
